How to Set Up Memberships

PLEASE NOTE: Screenshots are taken from the LilYPad DEMO system so your system may slightly differ depending on the functions you are using.

  1. In order to set up tracked memberships with LilYPad POS, you must first create an appropriate Product Type by going to the Admin Tab and selecting the Sale Tabs button.

  2. Create a Sale Tab with a relevant Name.

***NOTE: It is advised that you put Yes in the Customer required? field so that the Membership Sale Tab will link to a specific Customer.


  1. Once the Sale Tab is added, press the Back button which will bring you to the Admin Tab again where you will select Product Types.

  2. Create a Product Type called Memberships (Case Sensitive) which can be placed under any Sale Tab.

***NOTE: The Product Type MUST be called Memberships in order for the membership tracker system to work properly.


  1. Once the Product Type is created, press the Back button so you arrive on the  Admin Tab again where you will select the Product Tab.

  2. You can add a Membership to the system in Products in one of two ways:

***Example A: Memberships that cover a monthly period starting the day it is sold should look something like this: 1 Month Membership. To change the amount of months the membership covers, simply change the number at the beginning of the name.

***Example B: Memberships that cover an amount of time within a start and end date (such as a season of the year) can be created by entering in the start and end date at the bottom section called Optional Settings: Memberships.

***NOTE: you may call the Membership whatever you want in the Display Name.


  1. Once all the Membership Products are created, you must create a Product Type and Product that will admit a member. Go Back to the Admin Tab and select Product Types.

  2. Create a Product Type called Membership Admission.

***NOTE: The Name for this Product Type MUST be Membership Admission so that the system works correctly. It can be located in any Sale Tab.

  1. Select Back once the Product Type is create and select Product on the Admin Tab.

  2. Create a Product called Use Membership, which will be located in the Product Type called Membership Admission. A $0 amount is usually assigned to the price of this Product.

***NOTE: The Name for this Product MUST be Use Membership so that the system works correctly.
