This guide is to assist with setting up a loyalty program for your business using the built in loyalty feature in LilYPad.
First, navigate to the Location settings page, found under the Admin tab, and scroll down to the Customer Loyalty Program section. Here, you will find two settings that define how your loyalty operates:
Loyalty Ratio: This needs to be a value greater than 0 in order for the loyalty program to be active. This setting determines how much real world money a loyalty point is worth. A value of 1 would equal 1 dollar(or the equivalent in your local currency), a value of 10 would equal 10 cents, and a value of 100 would equal one cent. You can choose any value that suits you needs.
Loyalty Threshold: The Loyalty Threshold is the minimum amount of dollar value that is required to be accumulated before the customer is allowed to redeem their Loyalty Points for a Credit Note / Store Credit.
Once the loyalty settings have been adjusted, you can set the amount of loyalty a product earns by navigating to the products page, found under Admin, and editing any product you wish customers to earn loyalty on. From here, navigate to the Optional Settings:General section and adjust the Loyalty? field to the amount of loyalty points you wish this product to be worth. Once done, save the product by clicking the Save Changes button located at the bottom of the page.
Once a customer has purchased a product that earns loyalty, their customer profile will display any accrued loyalty. This accrued loyalty can will be displayed in one of two ways, depending on if the customer has earned enough loyalty to be able to convert it to store credit.
If the customer is below the loyalty threshold:
If the customer meets or exceeds the loyalty threshold:
If the customer has enough loyalty, and wishes to convert it to store credit, simply select the points from the drop-down menu and click the Convert To Credit button. This will take any loyalty points and convert the to the store credit. This store credit(sometimes also referred to as a Credit Note) will be displayed on the customer profile, in the same section where you will find and gift cards, memberships, or credit card tokens associated with the customer profile.
Once a customers loyalty has been converted to store credit, they can use that store credit on in house purchases. To do so, simply ring up a sale as usual for the customer, ensuring the correct customer profile is attached to the sale, and select the Credit Note option as the payment type. On the payment details screen you will see any credit notes that are attached to the customers profile, simply click the note you wish to use for payment and click the Add Payment button.
If you are using the customer survey feature in LiLYPad, customers can earn loyalty points for completing surveys, if you need assistance setting the customer survey feature up in LilYPad, please contact LilYPad support.
To allow customers to earn loyalty for survey completions, navigate to the Survey Settings page, found under the Admin tab. On this page you will see two settings relating to customer loyalty
Loyalty Per Survey: This setting determines how many loyalty points are earned by the customer for completing a survey. The customer will need to input the sale id they are completing the survey for, and sale ids can only be used to earn loyalty once.
Limit Loyalty? This is a Yes or No setting, if set to yes, customers can only earn loyalty once for completing a survey, regardless of how many unique sale ids they use.
