How to Use Gift Cards

This tutorial will show you how to use gift cards with LilYPad, assuming they are set up; it will cover gift cards with open amounts.

How to Sell a Gift Card

1. Select the desired Gift Card product on the Sale Screen like you would with a normal product.
   
   
2. Input the value of the Gift Card, then enter the new gift card number into the field called Gift Card ID.

NOTE: If using Magnetic Stripe Cards, simply select the empty field and swipe the card.

3. Now advance the next screen and process the transaction like a regular sale. The Gift Card ID will now contain all the information pertaining to the Gift Card you just sold.

TIP: It is good practice to add a customer to the sale of a Gift Card to make it easier to find related information in case anything happens to the customer's card.

How to Use a Gift Card on a Sale

1. Select the desired products on the sales screen and once finished, select Pay Now or Gift Card depending on your setup.

NOTE: If selecting Pay Now, you will be brought to the Payment Type screen where you can select Gift Card.

2. Once you have selected Gift Card as the payment type, you will be prompted to enter the Gift Card ID; once complete, select Add Payment.

NOTE: If using Magnetic Stripe Cards, select the field then swipe the Gift Card on the Magnetic Stripe Reader.

3. Once the Gift Card ID has been input, process the rest of the transaction like a normal sale.

NOTE: To see a Gift Card balance, go to the Search button at the top of the screen and select Gift Card Search.
